Early S+ Misc Parts

I'd like to spruce up a couple parts on my RW&B, early S+ machine.  If anyone has a decent condition, readable, red Change button and a 25 cent (small coin I guess they call it) coin entry casting, I could use them.  In particular, my coin casting has one of the threaded bosses broken off so it's loose on the front panel.


I could also use a nice unmolested one of the small wiring harness that leads to the Coin Comparitor from the plug in the middle of the front door.  Mine's been all hacked up.  You can see some of it in the attached image.

Since your machine is an early S+ some of the parts for it may be the same ones used on the IGT PE+ machine, which was the model just prior to the S and S+ models. Stuff like buttons, button lamps, door optic sensors, etc may be the same, others here can say for sure.

Some of the folks here on NLG will often have good used parts removed from machines that are getting parted out for a variety of reasons. Also, here is a good website with nice photos showing many IGT S+ parts and the correct name of the part (helpful when requesting or searching for a part):

On the left-side panel of their website you can narrow down the results by selecting "IGT". For example, here is a new cable for the coin comparitor:

But it looks like the cable that's been cut and spliced in your machine may be the door harness that the coin comparitor cable connects to, and not the coin comparitor cable itself? As an alternative, you could probably fold & tie back those overly long wires, or cut them shorter and reconnect them to make it neater.

We have Brand New Factory IGT Quarter Low Profile backing plate complete Coin Heads, or New IGT Bases without any backing plate and new Tall aftermarket backing plates. As well as the correct factory attaching screws and washers.

The low profile coin heads are for the S2000 and the tall back coin heads were from the S+ machines. The both will fit and work on both machines without any issues with one exception, and that is the tall backed coin head tends to block some writing on reel glass of the S2000.

Actually the Low Profile head was introduced with the Upright Imbedded S+ and PE+ Pokers (But many IBV machines still used the Tall Backs), the Vision Ready and S-2000 continued on with the Low Pro, this is why I listed all the ways anyone would want (in chrome anyway) the Low Pro just looks nicer but the Tall Back allows a person to Speed Feed coins. The Tall Back just looks wrong when you know what is supposed to be on the machine and blocks the Denom Badge(as you mentioned)

I guess maybe should be cleared that the Tall Quarter on the IBV S+ blocks the Insert Coin light or whatever light was there, the dollar back was closer to the Denom badge. My point was just that the OP just needed a base and could reuse the backing plate was all. I wish I could find my original sales lit from IGT to be positive about what year IGT did the different backing plate

I've attached a couple better photos of what I am after.  The wiring harness I need is the bit that runs from the circled Molex connectors to the left and over to the coin mech assembly.


The coin entry doesn't need to have the reject hole.  Mine is just filled with a cover rivet.  I've no idea if this is a short or tall one.

Or you can get one for a different coin denom and change the coin head backplate with your quarter backplate. Here are a couple of them from an NLG merchant:

These coin heads do not have a reject plunger because your running a comparitor. Your has a carriage bolt run through it for mounting of the coin head. Usually they are mounted from the bottom with 2 Phillips screws.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I'm working with one of the vendors here who looks to have the coin entry parts and also a replacement red Change button.  I think I've also been able to source the coin wiring harness I need.


The reject button on mine doesn't fasten it to the panel.  It's just being used as a cover for the unused hole, with a nut on the bottom to hold it on.  Mine does mount with the 2 screws from underneath and that's the source of my problem.  One of the mounting bosses is broken clean off and the other one's threaded insert is loose in the hole so it barely holds it on right now.
