V7000 touch problems

I have a v7000 here that in the past was picky with touch controllers it would only respond to the older controller it would not see the newer white 3m unit ....anyway I got it working and it worked here a long time with no issues ....... I sold the game .... customer calls me few days later it won’t boot .... 5v LED is out, he found a bad fuse .... game now boots but no touch , controller led is lit and intensity changes with touch but game don’t see it, I walked him through doing a soft same ram over the phone , same thing no touch..... what is next ? I ran into this once before but I just mixed and matched parts left n right till I got a combo to work... this a board issue ????
