Good morning. I am new to this board. I have a triple diamond deluxe that got hit by lightning. I have the machine working except the device 45 bill collector and some of the led lights are out. Winner paid p, credits, and coins played. Anybody know what to look for? There is a digit 2 in the winner paid light. I donâ€™t know much about this slot machine and donâ€™t know where to look for problem. I think it may be in the power supply but most of the other lights and sounds work. The bill validator moves and sounds like itâ€™s going through its check list but when I close the door the bills wonâ€™t even go in. I had to replace the cpu and the back plane board. Like I said most of the lights and sounds are working

It doesn't sound like a M slot with a bill validator. Probably a S Plus. Post a few pics of the machine & let us know what the 2 digits in the winner paid window are. Someone here can probably help you for sure.

If you replaced the cpu and backplane, more then likely your bill unit is not enabled. You need a set chip to do that. you should probably get a set chip and clear chip for that machine, they always come in handy. in the S+ section, "How to Guides" second post is the S+ diagnostic flip cards, they contain instructions to test every light, switch, display, etc. in that machine. takes a little to read through them but once you understand you can test anything and know for sure what's good and what's not.

The 145 bill unit is first generation stuff, good in its time but not today, it will only accept older money, one way acceptance. your best bet would be to upgrade to a 200 head with the latest software, it will take most of the new money and has 4 way acceptance. only have to undue one screw at the bottom of the transport to replace. hopefully your transport has a decent belt in it and will stack the bills without making them into an accordion. To up grade to the 200 head may require a newer power supply, its the black box mounted on the side of the housing, it has a plug that goes into the connectors on the left side of the 145 head. if it has vents in the outer casing then you are good to go, if completely solid, then you have to upgrade.

I have the power supply if you need one, the 200 head is available from other sources, see the list of vendors on the home page.

Pretty sure you machine is a S+, not a M or M+.

And how do I find out if it is an m or s+. The mouse board is a 75505704 rev b and the connector board is a 759013903 rev b.

Pull the cpu board out and look at the chips, game and reel chip, should have numbers on them SSXXXX SPXXXX

take some pictures, and post, have to be under 1 meg in size.

probably a SET 15 chip and a clear chip IVC 123

IVC123 clear. Set chip depends on what SP chip you have. The part numbers you listed indicate S Plus.

It's probably a code. Once you answer we might know why the other LCDs are not lighting.
The denom, insert coin, coin accepted are all #86 lamps.

Ok that contradicts your first post. I re-read that & you said digit "2". Do the reels stiffen when you power on the machine? If they turn freely by hand then there's an issue with power to the mother board. That's usually a bad harness & is a common problem.

Since the machine is working ,other than the bill unit and displays, and since you changed the motherboard, I believe you put one of the plugs in the wrong spot, I believe it is a six pin connector in the wrong spot, maybe the bill validator plug is in the wrong position. I believe it is in the reels position.

did you check and see if the display board is plugged in? two plugs, one for the denom. lamp,coin in and coin accepted , and the second for the digital display

the display board could be bad as well.

Found that you were right. I moved plug that was in J14 to J5 and all the lights are working now. No errors on the winner paid. Now all the lights are working properly except the bill validator. Plug J6 has a plug and it goes to validator and plugged in. Plug J13 has a plug and J14 does not have a plug. You said I need to update the bill validator to a new one? What is involved with that?

First, wait until you get your set chip, without it you can't enable the bill unit.

Second, read my reply #2, it tells you all you need to know about switching the head, one screw on the bottom front, and the plugs.

Third, read the flip cards and get to the menu 5_0 or 5_1 in the winner paid window, advance to # 9, this will tell you if the bill unit is enabled, 9_0, not enabled, 9_1 enabled.

Fourth, check and see what power supply version you have on the machine, mounted to the side of the metal housing where the bill unit is, left side, black case, either has vents in it (actually slits) or it is solid (no slits) if no slits, then you need to upgrade to a newer power supply.
