i just bought this bb1 machine after looking around i noticed that their are different button panels a 13. and a 14. it looks like mine was a 14 but the button was removed the button switch is still there question is should i replace the button or just leave it like it is what is the extra button for thanks

The missing button is what is sometimes called the "EB button" (Extra Bet).  It was used on some games where a specific feature required an additional bet, so you would hit this button for the extra bet wager.  (the game would also have on the legend of the topright bet button an option that said 30 lines + feature).  The game requires additional circuitry to operate beyond just a button, but if you get one of these buttons without the circuitry and use it as a regular button, it would do the same as the repeat bet button.  There are some bb1 games that do require the EBB that will not work without it.  You may be able to find all the necessary parts to re-construct the missing button.  These photos show what the button deck looks like complete and the extra hardware that goes with it.  There's a pcb under the button assembly that lights up the button, it's called the animator board.  Then, there's a ribbon cable that connects it to the control board which provides power and connectivity to the circuit that controls the light called the spn bus, that's what the ethernet looking cable is for.
