IGT G23: Touch Screen Issues

Hi all,


I have a G23 that was programmed for Game King. I have decided to delete / format all drives and installed 5 games I have purchased. Everything installed alright and came to the screen where you program everything when you restore. I had to calibrate the touch screen and noticed everything on the right handside wouldnt work so I couldnt proceed. Restarted and same problem.


I then decided I would factory restored the G23 again and I am now stuck on the screen where I select the nonvolatile storage to delete - as you can see by the video below the touch screen isnt working on the right hand side.


ANy help would be greatly appreciated! And rewarded if you can help me fix it!! :)

If repeated attempts at calibration does not fix the issue, you most likely have a damaged touchscreen matrix on your glass, no way to repair that, you would need to replace the touchscreen glass.

Doing factory restores and wiping memory does not affect touchscreens at all.  The touchscreens save their calibration information on the controller.

Thanks! The touch screen worked fine minutes before I setup the new game? I have always had Game King installed and never had an issue? Is there anything else I could check?

You could try replacing the touchscreen controller.  I have had instances on Bally Alpha 2 pro's where the touchscreen behavior is erratic, and replacing the controller would fix it.  Does the screen calibration work any differently if the door is open all the way when you try to calibrate?  In alpha 2's, when the monitors were in the open position the touchscreen worked, as I closed the door it didn't.  I've never had something like that happen on IGT platforms, all the times I've seen the behavior you describe, it has always been the touchscreen glass.

I swapped Brainboxes with and the CPU from this machine with a spare and fixed the problem. Wasnt a screen issue fortunately not sure what it was but swapping the hardware did the trick! Thanks Rick for your help :)
