Blown fluorescent light bulb

Hello,
I have an S+ Double Blackjack 2 coin machine.  The fluorescent light bulb above the reels was not working when I got it.  First I tried a new bulb, no luck.  Then I tried swapping the starter with a known good one with a good bulb, no luck.  Then I figured it was the ballast so I ordered a new one and installed it, still no luck.  Now it seems that the replacement bulbs are getting blown as soon as I turn the machine on.   They do not illuminate at all before this happens.  Anyone have experience with this failure before and a potential solution?   Thanks in advance.

Check the wires to be sure you are not pinching them when you close the door.

Can you post pictures of the wiring of the fluorescent bulb starter and ballast.  Sounds like a wiring issue.

Thank you both for your replies.  While trying to take pictures I noticed a black wire that was broken between 2 zip ties that were about an inch apart.  It was hard to see but I reconnected it and put in a new lightbulb and it works.  Thanks again!
