S+ Door Speakers Needed, 2" Square 8 Ohm

I'm looking for a few S+ Door Speakers or a suitable sub if anyone has found one.


Most of my searches turned up empty, and the part number on the Speaker itself doesnt Google.


If anyone has 3 or 4 good ones, or knows of a suitable replacement, please let me know.

The only markings on the speaker are on the top of the magnet.


It reads 13001490 8 Ohm 1 Watt


That's it.

I looked for some a year ago and tried these.

I'm a cheap ??? and they are cheap. They work - not as loud and pretty tinny sounding. Figured they would work.

I think everything else that was small enough to fit in the space was pretty pricey, didn't try anything else.

Lotta friends give me their old electronics and basically I rip them apart and find cheap speakers in them...connectors and whatnot.

I modded one of my S+'s...haha

I threw in one of those golf cart speakers that has a lot of bass.

The sound is awessome!  :cool_thumb_up:

Stayouttadabunker,


Is there anyway to isolate certain sounds? I have my reel music off (DIP#3), unplugged the counters but I dont like the coin/credit drop ding or the simulated reel stop sound. I would like to just have the bonus feature sound. Probably not possible but if it were pretty sure you're the guy that would know.

There is but I haven't tried it yet.....too darn busy fooling around with other stuff in my little life....haha

There's a socketed sound chip called "AY"-something (I'm nowhere near a slot machine at the moment lol)
Some boards I'm afraid to say, have an embedded chip in that location....cant do it with those unless you can un-solder the chip and install a socket.

If you got a computer programmer whiz kid that's in college, ask him to remove the socketed chip and reprogram it.
I'm pretty sure it's just a few bytes that need to be turned off in the data of that chip.
Save the original file in case he screws it up....lol
Gunna need a re-programmable eeprom-type of chip the same size to do all the trial and error.

I just never got around to it....I actually kinda like the sounds of an ol' S+.....except for that bloody bell tho!!!  :talktothehand: :rotfl:


If you can tell me what SP chip you're using....I might be able to scrounge up a PSR and see if there's any settings to make it do what you want besides that dipswitch setting.

Thanks, my "AY" sound chip looks to be removable. Now to find me a "computer programmer whiz kid"........


Since the AY chip is part of the board not the game chip couldnt this be done by someone that has the same AY chip/board and then installed on my board?
I assume the game chip tells the sound chip what to play. My current SP chip will not play idle music but I had one installed that would.


I like how quiet I have gotten the machine but would love to just have the bonus wave crashing sound (Tidal Wave game)
