S2000 Repair Services East Coast

I have a 1998 IGT S2000 that needs repair -- I have hit the limit of my abilities on this one. I am in northern New York state and I am looking for someone within a few hundred miles who repairs these.  Suggestions please!

Well, I’m on the opposite coast otherwise I would help out. But why not post a description of your problem here and maybe we can walk you through to getting it fixed? I’ve only been here about a year and I’ve seen countless machines troubleshot with the great minds of this forum. A few basic bits of info about what the machine is, what it does or doesn’t do and some pictures of the MPU might lead the way to a repair.

Thanks everyone for responding.  Here are some more details on the problem I am having:

I have an IGT S-2000 and I am receiving a "Display's NETPLEX Link is Down" message on the .  So far I have done the following with no results:

- I replaced the batteries on the board.
- I did my best to check for any loose connections.
- I replaced the power supply (twice, just in case the first replacement I purchased was bad).

The "...NETPLEX Link is Down" message comes up immediately when the machine is turned on.  The lights on the front of the board (above the MPU test button) initially come on, then the wheels spin and then the lights on the board turn off and do not come back on again.  The "...NETPLEX Link is Down" stays on.  Pressing the MPU test button does nothing and using the key to attempt to toggle the error message does nothing.

Any suggestions?  Apologies if my descriptions are basic -- I have limited technical abilities and am working with what little knowledge I have been able to gather from watching YouTube videos about this problem.

Two clarifications to my prior message:

1. When the lights on the front of the board are on, it is only the second, third and fourth light (out of six, counting from the bottom) that come on.  And as noted, all of the lights on the board turn off and stay off once the reels do their "test" spin.  The "...NETPLEX Link is Down" message stays on throughout.
2. When I replaced the batteries on the board I did not see any acid leakage -- the large battery was swollen but not leaking.

Thanks again for any input on this.  I am still very happy to turn over to an expert if there is one anywhere near Northen New York State!

Yes, after the reels spin, the LEDs show and then continue to flash (alternating with the last payout amount) "no disp".

Ok that's good.  There are a couple of different types of VFDs.  Does yours look like the one in the attached photo?  If so, the green wires on the bottom left are the netplex connection.  You can try removing and reseating the connector.  It probably won't fix it, but worth a shot.  Otherwise I'd look for a new VFD controller.  They're readily available and pretty cheap.
