BB2 to BB3 conversion
« on: July 07, 2025, 11:57:00 pm »
Apologies is this has already been asked:

I had picked up two BB2 cabinets without MPU's a while back and got one of them going with a NXT2 CPU. Now I'm digging into my second one and want to upgrade it to a NXT3.2. I have bought the mpu, emotive controller (just in case), clear cards, games set, and bios/jurisdiction EPROMs.

What I am struggling to find is the power cable for the emotive controller, and the power tap cable for the MPU. Does anyone either know where I can get that cable, or have a wiring diagram of it so I can make my own?

Please let me know,
Thank You!
Thanks,
Justin

I just dropped in the NXT 3.2/3.5 but I cannot get past this. It does not give me the option for machine setup. Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks,
Justin

Did you press the diagnostic switch in your cabinet. If so, maybe try pressing configuration mode? You seem to be in the attendant menu

This is what it looks like. You stated you are doing these in a BB2 Cabinet so it should set right under the printer

Ok, much better now.

The issue now is Cabinet type not allowed for this game.

I am trying to run Snow Leopard on BB2 cabinet with NXT3.2
Thanks,
Justin

You need an emotive controller plugged in otherwise you cannot bypass that error.

I have one on order. Do you have a guide on how to connect it?
Thanks,
Justin

Power cable should go into spare/aux power on the backplane and usb cable goes to CPU

I don't think it's coming with a power cable. I'll have to track one down

I can't seem to find a power cable for the emotive controller available for purchase. Does anyone have the pin out of the cable, looks like a 8pin to 6pin. I have some Mini Fit connectors and pins floating around from other projects so I could whip one up really quick, I just don't know the wiring connections from one need to the other.
Thanks,
Justin

Got the emotive controller today, I was able to cobble together a power cable from spare parts and a picture from a fellow NLG member.

I have seen others question the display scaling before, I am having that issue now. It seems that the display is fine in the operator menu for calibration and such, but the game goes over the screen boundaries.

Any ideas to fix it?
Thanks,
Justin
