S2000 MPU/CPU LEDs

Does anyone have a breakdown of what the LED indicators signify on the S2000 MPU? I cannot seem to find an answer anywhere.

Thanks for the response! does anyone else have any additional info? There's 8 LEDs, some green, some yellow, one red,  they have to signify something..... It seems theres a couple different patterns that I get whenever I turn the (likely needs a new enhanced MPU, "Display's NETPLEX Down. Already replaced the power supply, unplugged ballasts etc ) machine on...

If the red light is on you probably have a software problem.  Make sure there aren’t any bent legs on chips. You might want to post a good quality pic of the board too.

Need to see what chips are installed...did you install them?
What are the chip numbers?
Are they in their sockets correctly in the right direction?
No legs are folded underneath the chip bodies?

Is it a 1270 MPU?  Does it have a Varta battery?  If it does, it is probably low in power or no longer holds a charge?

Here's some photos of the boards etc. It is as I bought it, with the exception of the Varta and U16 that I removed. There was some fuzzy gray corrosion on the Varta, but not much. There is adhesive residue all over the software board. Is that an issue?

There's significant copper oxidation all over the place, it's probable that the damage is what is causing the red light.

The only one that has true meaning to us minions is the red one.  If it's on or blinking the game isn't booting.  The rest of them can be programmed to do whatever the game software writer wants them to do.  A couple of games I have have all of them completely off when the game is booted.  Others have the green and two ambers above it lit.  If you know what is normal for the game theme you're running you can use them to tell if something is wrong, but that's about it. 

The upper two amber LEDs should illuminate when you key the board.  So lower red and upper amber LEDs have meaning for home users.

Edited to add:  I'm referring to 50X series MPU's.  Not sure about 1270's.

The LED that is 'off' on your first post tells me that either one of 3 DC-DC converters is not working, or there is a short on the output of one of them, or that one or both of the 208 pin FPGA chips is not initializing for some reason. Until that LED lights, the i960 main microprocessor will not be allowed to boot at all.
