Some help needed witha bally 6000 coin optics board! At wits end..

I have a bally 6000 & it wont accept coins. No matter what I do, the amber LED on the optics board does NOT light!! Swapped power supplies, a few dozen optics boards, mpus, tested power at the backplane, even took the backplane out to make sure I have no burnt connectors or traces....NADA! I can hit the pseudo coin button on the mpu & simulate playing it, but the test button on the optics board wont work and again, no matter what I do the optics board appears dead & obviously no coins register once the door is closed.....

any ideas??

I'm assuming the coin mech switch on the MPU is in the up position?

they are now...I have worked on so many of these, but the harness that connects to the pigtail had NO WIRE for ground!! I got that sorted out & now have the amber LED on the optics board & can add credits with the small test button on the optics board. Yes in up position. I have been using a few TESTED GOOD cc-16 still no luck when door closed...I have power to both the optics & coin comp.....
swapped mpu's, roms... dunno... im starting to lean towards the backplane board..... strange...
