at this point do you think a clear chip and then key chip to start from scratch would be a good idea? what if i were to disconnect the tito and see if i can get the printer working that way? maybe something wrong with the tito?

You can if you are confident you can set it up right. Disconnecting the TITO is up to you. The Bettor TITOs are generally good units. I have a question. Do you have the ribbon harness connecting the comm board to the backplane? If it is missing the TITO is not communicating.

you nailed it RB thank you. the ribbon between the comm board and the back plane was installed but at just enough of an angle that a couple of the pins were not making contact.  the machine is now working correctly. tito is working too. how can i compensate you for your time? this is a relief thank you.

FYI, there is a small red reset button on the Bettor TITO. Occasionally it will go offline. Use the button and wait about 20-30 seconds for it to reset. That's one thing I don't care for. It's always hot with the USB power cube. I would rather it power off when the machine is off. There is a fix for that but you have to get inside the power distribution box and rewire the ac outlet for switched power rather than unswitched.

ok i am all subscribed up as a contributing member. thank you. yes i would love to change that setting so it powers off when the game is shut down as my machines spend most of their time powered off. for know i will unplug the machine so it does not stay powered on. i will send you a message when im ready and maybe you could walk me through it or direct me to information that tells me how. have a great night.

Simple solution: Use an switched surge protector to turn your machine of and on. You don't even have to open the door.
