Bally 1088 insert coin winner paid lights intermittent

 Insert coin and winner paid lights intermittent only after a completed spin with or without payout. All payouts are correct.

If there is a payout after a spin the winner paid and insert coin light will come on then sometimes flicker and both go out. if I gently shake the cabinet sometimes they will come back on. If there is no payout just the insert coin light have the  issue.  If the lights are off and I drop a coin the lights will illuminate and stay on until the handle is pulled. I have wiggled all harnesses and wires going to the front door with no changes. I have checked the schematics to see what is in common with both of those lights at rest but don't see a connection. Could possibly be the payout relay but why on constantly after a coin is accepted??

Check the mating of pins on your hopper plug, both male and female sides. perhaps some contact spray or wd 40. also clean contacts on your hopper payout relay. Good luck, the  wizard .

Check the light sockets and the common blue wire for irregularities.
Blue wire tabs can rotate and possibly ground out.

Then the coin relay switch bottom left of the reels assembly.
Trace the appropriate wire from the light in question to the associated contacts, they might need attention.

WD 40 is flammable and a slight electrical spark in perfect conditions could result into a fire.

Winner paid light is associated with the payout counter bottom right of machine.
After a small pay step the unit up manually 20 or so times.
Play another coin, observe the winner paid light for proper function.
Note this unit is in a area that has limited access, but can be manipulated with care.

Hopper plug was the issue. I had cleaned them before with contact cleaner, did it again and the lights are rock steady.
