Game King Multi-Game - TOUCHSCREEN ONLY WORKS IN OPERATOR'S MENU

Hello,

Wondering if there is a reason the touchscreen on my Game King Multi-Game would stop working on the main screen where you select the game you want to play?  It works perfectly fine in the operator's menu...

do you have a tilt? Maybe an open door that is keeping the game from playing?

Nope, no tilts.

Did you run through the calibration process?

Yep; I have done that with no issues whatsoever.

Is this the same machine that has the bill validator problem too?  Both the touchscreen and bill validator use the netplex bus.  Normally there would an error message if something was wrong with it, but stranger things have happened.

This sounds like a door open problem. close the door and look at the bottom of the screen and tell me if it says door open m, closure m, or both

If I remember correctly, I believe it says both.

and yes, the machine has the bill validator problem also, but the problems didn't occur simultaneously.  Bill validator issue occurred first, then the touchscreen. I am wondering if changing a setting of some sort while trying to fix the bill validator may have caused the touchscreen issue?

If you have a door open prompt on the bottom of your screen the touch screen will only work when in the operators menu. You have an open door switch somewhere. Tie off the bill validator door switch, tie off the belly door switch and then see if the prompt goes away. If not look at the mechanical door switch to the right of the monitor.

Is there any chance that someone here would be able to guide me through the troubleshooting the next time I go to work on it?

Have you tried to unplug the printer. I had this problem on a Gameking that drove me crazy. I tried everything as far as changing the complete wiring harness. After changing the harness I forgot to plug the printer back in. I did not know it at the time. The touch screen worked. I thought the problem was the harness. When I saw that I forgot to plug the printer in and plugged it back in the touch didn't work again. That's when I realized the printer was bad.
