BB2e BillVal & Printer Com Error

I’m working on a new to me BB2e. Trying to get the bill validator and printer to work. If I set machine up with no printer or bill validator I can play it using the Tito credits through the service button. Mars bill validator and nanoptix paycheck printer. When power is cycled the bill validator cycles like it should. I’ve swapped bill validator heads and same problem with a known good unit. Bill validator has blinking green led, printer has solid green led. It will feed paper through using the button on the side. Looking at the devices they look like they should be ready to go. Bill validator will not take any bills in at all. Is there a common denominator I am missing since I am getting the same com error for both devices?

I compared the jumpers on the backplane and noticed they were different than my other bb2e with mars bill validator. I swapped them so they match my working machine and now the billval error is gone. Still have the printer com error though even though I have a solid green led on the paycheck printer with no red led.
