Aristocrat Wild One Video Poker - Metering Error & Key Access

I found a Aristocrat Wild One Video Poker machine produced in 1995 at the end of the road yesterday and brought it home.  After plugging it back in and doing a little troubleshooting, I was able to get it to operate.  I now have a couple of questions:
- I am getting a metering error which after looking online, seems to be a pretty common issue.  It looks like most everyone is referencing a Mk2.5 and 540 Ram Clear document, which is a little confusing to me and not 100% sure it applies.  First question is does it apply to my machine?  If so, I struggle when I get to the point about discharging the capacitor (I found it on the board but dont know how to discharge) and then I am unsure of what the audit and cancel keys are, as well as the jackpot keys. Thoughts on how best to resolve the error?
- I have a key which opens the cabinet, however, it looks like there are key slots on the side that have electrical connections on the inside.  Any idea what those are for or where I can find documentation that tells me what they are?  Also, any way to get keys made for them as well?  Also, an way to get an operating / troubleshooting manual (I emailed aristocrat but am not optimistic).  I am an engineer and can work through most things but without any documents is a little tough.
- There are four red pushbuttons on one of the PCBs on the inside, however, when I push them none of them seem to do anything.  Is that common?
