Printer Paper Error
« on: December 06, 2024, 10:43:53 am »
I have an S2000 with a call attendant printer error after every print. I have to open the door pull out the PSA-66-001N printer with an orange light on the indicator and feed the paper back through. Once I close the door and cycle the handle a couple of times the machine resets and it’s good till the next print. I’ve taken the printer apart and cleaned the rollers and blown out any dust from the printer with no prevail. I’m assuming its a printer problem and was wondering it there was anything else I can do or should I just replace the printer?

:mummy: There were mummy's walking around when that was built...lol   :mummy:

Since you've cleaned the Futurelogics' golden-aged rollers and belts, it sounds more like some IC component on the board inside has gone out of specs... probably age-related.
Could be a capacitor, a transistor, an end of paper optical sensor, anything.
If yours has the blue lever, it must be in the up position to pinch the rollers to grab the paper.
It sounds more like the end of paper sensor is out of whack though.
Have you looked inside at the circuit board?

Yours is Netplex comm....not too costly for a working, tested replacememnt.
Here's a link to an ancient manual...>>>

So it sounds like the printer needs to be replaced? Any suggestions on who may have one on this site? The Netplex Comm Error is on a different machine.

I'm not talking about any other machine...I was pointing out that your S2000 uses the Netplex communication to interact with the printer.
On the NLG homepage are member/vendors.
They have phone numbers listed.... call them for a printer for your machine.

or

Place a WTB ad in the NLG Classifieds for an S2000 Netplex printer.

Does your printer have the blue lever on the right hand side or no?

okay.... the Futurelogic printers with the blue levers are the oldest ones...1st generation.
That blue lever must be in the up position, to have any chance of working.

I would upgrade to at least the Gen 2 maroon/gray colored Netplex printer for your machine.
Ask the vendor if they have the black coiled harness with the Netplex Molex connector plug for the Gen 2 printer, and proper paper chute or faceplate for an S2000.
Make sure they know where your printer is located in your cabinet, so you get the right faceplate or paper chute.
