All complete.  Thanks to everyone who provided info.  As a few said before, it really was not hard at all to do.  I would have no issue doing this again when needed.

YESSSS!!! Great to see it working. The idea of going into that monitor sounds horrifying, but once you do it, its a VERY smart and easy design. My only complaint (very small issue), is that the new panel is NOT IPS. Most people wont notice, but I HATE TN panels on slot machines. I cant remember if the original was an IPS panel or the same. So if anyone knows of an IPS panel, let me know. Otherwise this was a kick ass fix!
