installed new battery now no sound? pe plus

Hi All
i had a bad battery screen so i replaced it now i have no sound? i deoxit the pot checked the small caps in that area all look good. the game plays fine just no sound now?

I recently had to replace the volume pot in mine.
Just as a test. You might try shorting the two pins on the pot - this will send the volume to max.
I used a small set of alligator clips.

I jumped the pot and still no sound. how could changing the battery make the sound go away? any more things i can try?

On the PE+ You can press the white self test button and go through the various screens but I am not aware of any sound on/off setting. With that said it might depend on what game chip you have.

On the S+ slot it has the same volume control but you can turn off reel sounds, stop sounds etc.
when you run a clear chip through a S+ you end up a silent machine as the factory default is for these to be off.

Depending on how long you have been without a battery the cmos can lose its settings and then strange things happen. On the S+ you can get into a 61 loop. I haven’t seen the equivalent in the PE+ but can’t say I have seen everything…

Holding down the white button no longer bings but does go to menu, on poker you can change it from "music" or "tone" i guess the cmos went wonky. it plays fine, coin in works, BV works,  maybe the music will come back someday. i do have a second board to swap out but i put it somewhere safe and for the life of me i cant find it

The ding is usually after 4seconds.
Do you have a clear chip ?

Just a thought... by chance did you check your speaker wires/connector just to rule that out?

ok i pulled the speaker resolder the pig tail  tested it with a battery, traced the wiring pulled the connecter at the main board repluged it in and now all is good in PE land lesson learned do wiggle test, pull plugs and put back plugs .
what ohm is the volume pot? i was thinking of replacing it. or who has them?
