bally 6000 leave in mains with ticket printer?

trying to help a guy long distance. he has a bally 6000 with a hopper, coin acceptor, bill acceptor , and ticket printer. he needs a battery, has a AA holder already installed.  he doesnt have the skill to change the chips, and nobody to help.  i know when there is a ticket printer, it gets more complicated. there is no way he can remove the mains, install clears, and reinstall the mains. if he mailed me the board, i can put in leave in mains and the batteries, send it back for him to clear with dip 8. my question, will a straight clear work with his machine? i remember with a printer, no hopper, its gets complicated, 11D settings ,etc. i hoping with the new mains, it will work, he doesnt care about the tickets. will it work?

If you disconnect the printer you can use leave in clears. Default settings after clear should work fine with Bill's and coin. The only way to use leave in clears with printer is with a Tito, but the setup is much more involved and would need to be done each time battery needs changed.

i hope he has the chops to pull the printer. it should just pull forward, remove connectors and done?

If you have a 6000, put the board in your machine with leave in clear chips,  clear it, turn #8 off , at this point, don't put it back  in your machine, leave it as is , send it to him and when he powers it up , keep door open let the reels calibrate, when you see zero's and one's for date info, have him press the service/change button on the outside of the door.  It will show 50, close the door and insert coins or bills. Make sure the coin mech switch is in the UP position.

I would recommend installing a 3 AA battery holder with Alkaline batteries, mounted on the outside of tray and change the batteries each year with the power turned ON. Won't never have to mess with clearing it again.
