Screen offset on BB3 CPU in BB2e system
« on: June 19, 2025, 01:04:12 pm »
I have a BB2e-BB3 conversion.  All BB2 games work fine with the BB2 CPU, and BB3 games have been working as well.  Now, with the BB3 CPU the screens look normal during bootup, but when it gets to the point of entering setup, the primary bottom screen is offset which prevents setting the machine up or playing.  We identified a bent or broken pin on the primary DVI port on the CPU and have replaced the CPU and are still getting the same issue with BB3 games.

Somewhere along the way (unsure if it was before or after this problem started) we jumpered J14 and cut the pin 10-12 jumper on J10 to use Illinois Game Chest, but never got it working.  Could this be related?  We've since reconnected J10 pins 10-12 and removed the J14 jumpers and performed multiple ram clears and reloads of games that have always worked (Wonka, Invaders Return).

Anyone have ideas?

People say these to fix the resolution. The emulator fixes it and the short jumper cable to get it to fit.

I don't know if this 90 degree goes the right way thought, but you supposedly need a Male to female DVI-D extension.

"These" as in the links will DISAPPEAR over time which will make your nice response useless.
Please EDIT your post, remove all the extra tracking parameters on those links and add a PHOTO from the Amazon site for those items. That way, someone in the future can also perhaps benefit from your helpful reply.
