Jay, its funny you should ask. All these years I thought a 1493 was the 14” version. However, I just measured and its the same size tube as a 1492. As far drop in, thats going to depend on what format of machine you have. That is not a monitor for an upright unless its an older version with the wires going to a connector in the bottom of the frame. But its CGA so it should work from an image standpoint.
1493 was capable of multiple different resolutions.
The video PRA cards and most of the video circuits are on the neck board instead of the main board.
The 1493 has a 3pin degauss connector. Your PE probably doesn’t use one.
Both use the same power supply
Both use the same video input connector on the board, although the higher resolution 1493s have a 7-pin connector, even though only 6 pins are used.
The input connector on the frame, like 1492, varies by application. That looks like a slant top frame to me.
