Well this seems to be the place with the people with the answers! I'm Michael in Utah, just picked up an IGT Model # 96432700 Ser.# 1201696 Man. 9/02 Hexbreaker video slot. After reading thru forums here, new CMOS battery got it to boot up. Been trying to get it to take my money. Have 4 blinking LEDs at BV, doesn;t try to take any bill, diag. screen says Comm Error Bill Validator. I've not heard any noise from the BV even on startup. All dips were up when I got it, no LEDs on, flipped them down and get blinking all the time with comm. error.
 Unknown history of machine, looking for next step to try.
And is there any way to manually add credits to play if BV is not working?
 (Asking for a friend) Wife actually!

Please post a picture of your machine.

Generally speaking after a game change, CMOS reset etc. You need to reactivate your bill validator.
On the older S+ this involved using a SET chip, on the newer S2000 (also reel based) you needed to use a KeyChip (more of a SIM actually).
Not sure on your model.

Basically your telling the bill validator what denomination your machine is so it knows how many credits to apply for a buck.

Good job on resizing your pictures.

One quick way is to take them with your cell phone then email them to yourself. You will be prompted to reduce the size.
Then post the ones you just emailed yourself.

More info-1,2,5,25 cent denom. options are selectable.
They all work via touch screen.
Has ticket printer installed with tickets in it.
White switch behind cash box has no wires connected to it.

I've had machines in the past, actually like to put anything less than 20.00 from my pocket into them each night. Kind of a cash stash. Seeing as they don't give back as much as they take!

It is very satisfying knowing I will get back all the money I fed this thing, when I feel like cashing out.

You have an IGT i-Game machine and a WBA-12/13 validator.

The white cherry switch behind the cashbox is probably bypassed.
When a cashbox was pushed in, it would push in the cherry switch plunger. in turn tell the MPU that the cashbox was physically in the machine.

Turn ON the power switch, close the door, wait a few seconds, does the validator bulb light up the bill bezel where you insert bills?

Hi and much thanks to you all, I flipped the dips the other way and the BV started cycling. It took a dollar, then a 20,another 20, then a few Benjamins. Then a few more. Wife and I been playing for a while!
 So stoked!
Best part-I have the key lol!
