Oled panel failure?

Ok so I fired up my bb2 and it was working fine.  Not five minutes later I look and my button panel is all red lights and doesn’t do anything.  I restarted and got a call attendant and wouldn’t load. I swapped usb cable and did the same thing.  Did my panel just die.

You may have 24v power, that's evident from the edgelit LEDs surrounding the buttons.
However, the organic led screens aren't emitting any display.
I would first check with a multimeter on the 2-pin power Molex to see if there is 24 volts coming out of it or not.
If 24 volts isn't fully present, change out the power supply box.
If 24 volts IS present...then read below...>>>

ALWAYS remove or plug in that USB cord into it, with the machines' power switch, to OFF.
It says right in the manual that the OLED decks are NOT HOT-SWAPPABLE.
SWAPPING the USB with LIVE power ON may be a good way to KILL your expensive button deck.
If you did NOT do this, then something else is wrong.
Since you've already swapped the USB cord, I would try spare button deck.

If the button deck doesn't work after trying these couple of things, then the problem may lay with the MPU board.
Something may have killed the USB COMM output or something on the deck board is shot?
Also, look for a possible burned out IC component on the back of the button deck board.
This of course, requires complete disassembly of the deck from the door panel.

The other thing you can try is to simply turn the jackpot key once, to re-boot it up, and let us know if that fixes it?

You can wait for someone who knows more about these button decks, to give you a better answer, but these are the things that I would try for now.

Yes I did not remove the usb with power on.  I made sure it was off. I had an old untested cable I swapped in but it could have been bad too.  I’ll have a new one tomorrow.  I will verify 24v tonight it’s just odd how out of the blue it did this with no changes or nothing moved.

The OLED decks are like lightbulbs...they don't last forever.
Plus they were ON 24/7 for years before you got a hold of it...and now you're turning them OFF and ON - like they never were before.
Each time you turn them ON, reduces their lifespan.
Ever notice that regular light bulbs at home, will burn out just when you hit the light switch on the wall?
These button deck OLEDs, at 3/4 brightness, are rated for about 100,000 hrs lifespan...roughly 11-1/2 yrs.
They may have been turned OFF for quite a while, somewhere in storage, before you were able to get your machine from someone else.
These machines were just NOT designed for home use.

yes thats true. it was probably at the end of its life as i purchased an un-refurbished used panel

You could try Clearing the machine, and re-installing the software (With whatever game CF cards you have in it).
Maybe that'll bring some life back to the deck?
Maybe it just lost its configuration memory somehow?
A failing onboard MPU battery could cause that too.
As you probably well know - batteries don't last forever too.

i just ordered the h13.471 os to update firmware  hopefully with the new cable and updates it will resolve it.  i reckon if it does ill just leave the machine on
