I have 3d printed some plunger parts for my pinball machine. Best to use ABS, but whatever you use it needs to be very densely infilled, preferably 100%. These pieces are getting slammed really hard and, in this case, every coin going through the hopper rolls on the edge of the knife, it then has the pressure of the switch bearing down on the coin which transfers the load onto the edge of the blade. The original knives are made of that plastic like they make radiators out of, tough as you know what! Im sure it has a really long name that starts with poly!
If you do draft up the blade I would be interested in having the file. Its a complex curve.

Will do Chris! I’ve been trying to get the dimensions right with the knives that I currently have but I’m just fractionally off. I’ll keep trying, but hopefully someone out there has a solution at hand.

To my knowledge there's only a small coin knife and a large coin knife. Did you ever post pictures of your hopper ??

I’ll do so shortly. Perhaps I don’t have a Bally large knife, but maybe only an IGT knife? Trying one more thing. It’s like the coins slide onto the knife and then very very incrementally get stuck and then shoot across the hopper. Once the coins get beyond that sticking point, the coins flow perfectly.

Pictures of my current hopper and the issue. There is good contact with the hopper knife. Motor works fine and once coins get beyond this sticking point with the knife, coins freely flow. Trying to see how to resolve where the coin and the knob on top of the motor catch so incrementally.

That shelf is far too small. The coin needs to be cradled between the two tabs. And I think the coin plate is for a larger coin. I don’t have a lot of experience with large coin hoppers but that coin looks dwarfed.

I think you're exactly right! This shelf is dwarfed. I have a couple larger shelves, but I need something in between. I think they come in a few different sizes. I would think this hopper knife issue then goes away. I'll troll the BB to see if anyone is selling.
