Need help fixing my Bally Pro Slot S6000
« on: August 06, 2026, 09:03:41 pm »
Hello,
We recently purchased a well used Bally Pro Slot S6000. Initially the battery was dead so we fixed that.  Then needed clear chips, got those along with new mains..  U43 and U28.
We have gotten the 'handshake' code saying the mpu is ok, but when the reels start turning only reel 1 and 2 turn, reel 3 jumps around.
I switched reel 2 and 3.  It is the slot for reel 3, not the reel.
We need help finding all the problems and either fixing or helping me figure out how to fix the issue(s) so we can getting he slot machine working.

As a note, I cannot get anything on the screen beyond a 0 and f.  I have read the F says the MPU is ok...  and the 0 says there is a problem, which I assume is reel 3, but not sure...

Help.

Thx

Ralph

Can you post picture of MPU ? Check for bent pins on the MPU edge connector. Make sure the MPU is fully seated, the last 1/4" it snaps into place, needs a firm push. Did you get a CLC on the display after the clear procedure? Did you let the reels calibrate after the clear?

Hello,

I did check the eprom pins, found one early on on one of my mains that was bent but fixed it...
Also, I have pushed in the mpu until tight, but it has never "clicked" into place...  I appears seated though and will not go in further...  I have also checked the pins in back and they are ok as are the seats...
As for the reels, I believe the slot has tried to calibrate the reels, but reel 1 and 2 turn while reel 3 just bounces.  I have narrowed down that problem by switching reel 2 and 3.  Reel 1 and 3 turn fine in slots 1 and 2 while reel 2 now bounces in slot 3...

I have taken 2 photos and will post them...

Thank you again.

You used removeable clear chips? You had a CLC on display after the clear procedure? After the clear, you reinstalled the original mains, powered it up and reels did a self-calibration? Then you seen a 50 on the display?

Are you holding down the change button while you are powering up to get those reels to calibrate?

Hmmmm, I have not tried that.

Help me with when I should press the change button, I assume I hold it until calibration is complete.

Thx

Ralph

It is especially important right after a RAM Clear.  Hold the Change button down, THEN power up.  Keep holding the Change button while the reels do a dance and jig.  Then they should rotate in sequence a couple of times then stop at the Center Payline and adjust themselves to the payline.  Keep holding that button down until the sequence stops and the game display resets.  You should also be able to do this on a normal power-up.  If that doesn't help, your problem is elsewhere but this is always good to do after a Ram Clear.

Hello,

I just got a chance to try it.
When I push the change button it did nothing.  If I also press the Test button the reels turn 2 time around and then stop. Close to centered on the bar line.
Codes on the front show 40 and 55.

Thx for your help
