My old lady is interested in a wolf run game. What can you tell me about the platform? How do they differ from an S2000? What are the common problems?


On a different subject, she asked about a Boom game with rockets and cows. She says it is an older sit down game. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Thanks for the help! Rick

When Wolf Run came out on the IGT video platform, it was totally different from the older S2000 platform.
They got rid of the stepper reels and installed an open-framed LCD screen monitor.
Totally different MPU circuit boards, software, and cabinet.
Looks like a video game now.
Problem #1 is that the LCD monitors only last so long before they start looking old and faded.
Lot more heat inside the cabinets and stronger ventilation fans.
as far as "Rockets and Cows"...    Is she thinking of a video game called "Money Storm"?
It has cows and tornados? lol

She showed me a pic of the belly glass online. It say BOOM on it and supposedly has a bonus round?

Show us a pic of the glass of you could, but I think I know which one it is, and it seems like that's a WMS Dotmation theme. Once we see the glass, we'll know for sure.


Never mind, I found the pic online. And yes, that's a Williams/WMS game.

That's the one. What can someone tell me about it? How do they compare to the S2000? Ease to work on like the S2000 or a pain? What are costs compared to the S2000?

1st of all, just about every video game out on the market today has a "Bonus" round of some sort...
some have multiple different bonus rounds.

As far as this game "Boom", I don't know  which WMS platform it's out on.
There's a G+ series video platform and several others.
The newer the platform normally, the harder and more expensive the parts.

For working on them, you'd be best going and read up on the different platforms available here on NLG that'll help give you a better idea what these machines are all about.

But basically, even the newest video machines are just fancy computer video cabinets with up-to-date bill acceptors and ticket printers.

Make sure that whatever you get is a "Standalone" game that you can stick in your home and
not a WAP ( Wide Area Progressive) game that requires being hooked up to a casino server.

I have the video version of boom.  It runs on a wms 550/360 video platform.  Can't say I've ever seen the mechanical reel version.  Here's a picture of the cabinet and a screen shot.  Wolf Run is an igt 044 based game, it is readily available, but it is not on the same game platform as Boom.
