Bally 5500 cycles off and on

My Bally 5500 has a gremlin. When I apply 110  power to the machine from a cold start , the "Bet One", "Cash/Credit", and "Bet Max" buttons  cycle on and off every two seconds for 15 to 30 minutes.  If you hit the Bet button while it is momentarily lit it will play fine. But when it is out, nothing, until  it lights up again. This goes on for about a half hour and then it stabilizes and everything stays on. And works as it should.   The Dollar Bill Acceptor needs about 45 minutes before it eventually lights up and will work.  What is the most likely culprit ?  A board ? Power Supply ? Any suggestions on how to narrow it down?   Thank you in advance for your advice and knowledge..Tom

5500 are notorious for power supply failure. Test the outputs of the power supply to see if they are following the same pattern under load.
