GQ-4X - burner - problems with 27C512

My GQ-4x has worked perfectly for years - now when I try burning 27C512 the unit gives me a verify error on all burns - these are all NEW ST -10 eproms - from 2 different vendors and different batches.  They work perfectly on my BYTEK gang burner so it doesn't seem to be a eprom problem - I sent the unit back to manuf. along with sample proms (which they lost) but could not find any issues with the burner. I reloaded their software - since I don't have any other 512s around  -  could not try that - I also had issues trying to copy 4001 and 4002 using the stack board - but they did copy after several erase/burn attempts.
Anyone else have any similar issues?

Sometimes I run into issues if the USB port being used does not provide enough current, or the usb cable is too long.  Have your tried another PC to see if the problems persists?

i ran the diagnostics and they all checked out - voltages were fine.  The usb cable is the original - since mcu says the unit is okay - and am pretty sure the eproms are good - then it narrows down to the cable and/or the cpu  I do have another dos machine I can try as well - wish the burner would work on my IMAC would be so much easier. Will post my results in a few weeks when i return from vacation.  thank you for your response

you can run vmware fusion on your mac on a virtual PC if you don't want to break out old hardware.

I received my burner back from the manufacturer and I am told there is nothing wrong with the burner - and their response is the eproms are defective!!!  I bought 2 lots of the 25C512 ST from different vendors and they both assure me the eproms are fine.  I can burn other manufacturers eproms with no problem just the ST are causing me headaches. PLUS they seem to work fine on my BYTEK gang burner (some do fail).   QUESTION - what about the ST EPROMS manuf in CHINA?  are they reliable?  how can you tell if they are chinese?   The lot numbers I have are 9G006 MOSTLY
