In the past, I've cleaned the male side of the plug with a exacto knife. Wearing high power magnify eyewear, you'll see the layer of corrosion / oxidization. Then gave each blade a very slight twist. On the female side I cleaned the receptors with a piece of sheet metal cut to the same width as the female, but longer as to be able to hold with vice grips. The Wiss cutters will leave a sharp edge on one side of the metal, so alternate as you clean. The metal I used was 22 gauge paint lock. Best to mic the female side and find metal close to that size. If the pins and receptors are loose in the plastic housing, try a little crazy glue, but test a few to see if it holds.
