Bally 6000 Triple Paytime Batteries

A question for you Bally slot experts.....I have a Bally 6000 Triple Paytime slot showing an "88FF" error message after being turned off for over a year.  When this happened about 3 years back, I replaced the battery on the MPU board and that restored it to normal operation.  I plan to do that again now to restore, but had one question before I do....is it just the MPU board battery that goes out, or is there also a battery on the top box board (the board that controls the top box bonus game located behind the top box glass) that would also require replacement at some point?
