What happens if you leave credits in slot machine and turn it off for long time

Hi, I am wondering what will happen to a slot machine if you leave credits in it and you turn the slot machine off for a few days ? Will the battery drain completely? Or what will happen? Thanks :)

The credits will gain compound interest just like a loan. :24:

Nothing really there has been some debate on this forum about that but whether it is saving  a 1 or a zero in the memory the power drain on the battery is the same.

About the only thing that can happen is that the battery dies and you lose the credits.  I usually leave credits on the machine on all the time.

i have left mine off for a few months at a time, and credits remained,


but if battery is already low then may not last that long.


i have noticed that if battery does die ( both 2354 and the green one, everything is gone, all my machines that were off for 2 years dead
i had to rekey and configure all of them , and replaced the 2354 battery, the green ones recharded after a little bit of time

the green battery is not needed and only keeps the security checks active while the machine is off. if your boards still have them i would remove them as soon as possible. the old style board you can just remove the battery on the newer ones you have to remove a few other components also. i do board repair and 80% of the boards i get in are damaged because that battery.the most that should be lost is the credits when a battery dies. all the options are stored in an i2c eeprom that is mounted to the motherboard in the cabinet this chip does not need power to hold its memory. i have noticed when they are getting close to there end of life the will get corrupt randomly.

Mine doesn't have a green battery and I think that mine has a coin battery, I don't feel confident enough to remove the MPU yet
