S2000 reels hit winning combination but no payout or credits

 Hello, I have an IGT S2000 recently picked up and refurbishing. It's a Titanic 3 coin with a 10,000 jackpot. All seems to be working at this point but upon recent play I have noticed on several occasions that when I hit say a winning combination like double bars all across I am not credited with a win. It does hit a winner on the first reel I know that for sure. I have double checked the stepper base chip and I have SB10003. I have triple checked the reel strips, they are IGT all in the right order and in the notches. Any one have any ideas or something I can check would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, sorry the picture cut off the top portion of the glass. But it is a 10,000 coin jackpot. So either way I played 3 credits then hit 3 double bars, so I should have received 60 coins. Have you ever seen this. Yes SB is SB10003 for Titanic.

Usually the wrong SB chip if you are sure the strips are installed correctly.
I will check my files when I get home from work.

I'd throw that chip into a reader/programmer and verify if it is an SB00003 or not.
It could be incorrectly labelled?

Go to accounting/version accounting and see what PV3 says.

Here is a pic of top glass. I have thought about trying another SB just to see what happens because I don't have a reader. I will also check and see what the PV3 says sixcardmark. Do you guys think the #3 reel optics are bad not picking up the 3rd reel. All of my wins have been from the 1st reel from what I can remember. Thanks for your help guys

If the reel was bad it would throw a reel error fault code and they wouldn't stop spinning. Does the machine pay out on reel combinations that it shouldn't?

Not sure I understand your question on all wins from the first  reel?
What are the numbers on the reel strips and what reel # are they in?
The reels themselves are ok. If there was a mechanical problem the machine would throw error codes.

Is it possible there might be slant machine reel baskets in there?

Ok, thanks for the answers on the reels that eliminates that thought. It has never paid out on a combo it shouldn't have. I can check the numbers on the strips but they are genuine IGT strips and I know they are in correct order due to the boat has to line up in sequence. Stayoutdabunker I did think of that too, but checked the reels thoroughly and they are straight up and sit close to the glass just like another machine I have. To answers qberts question what I mean by that is any win from the first reel of say the beginning of the boat is 6 coin win or any life preserver, seems like it pays when 1st and 2nd reel land together as a win but not the 3rd. Does that make sense. Thanks guys

okay..you still gotta check Reply #5 about the PV3 in the settings

Open the door, push the button on the MPU once - you'll be in [Accounting]
Press Spin button once - you'll be in [1.1 Terminal Accounting]
Press Cash Out button 4 times - you'll be in [1.6 Version Accounting]
Press Spin button twice - you'll be in [PV1 GAME]
Press Cash Out button once - you'll be in [PV3 BASE] and there's the SB chip # and the CRC code.

Good point about the boat lining up I didn't think about that. We are down to :
1) Do you have the correct SB
2) Are the strips properly engaged with the reel.(Tangs)
3) The reel doesn't change position on a slant top/upright setting just orientation.  That still needs to be checked. (Doubt this is the issue)

It doesn't pay on non-winning combinations so the SB is likely correct. Previous owner could have replaced a bad reel with a slant reel, but that's easily deduced by swapping the reels, not strips with one of the other positions. I beleive slant reels and upright reels are interchangeable, but don't remember what you adjust to make them one or the other

Just remembered. It can't be a slant reel issue because you tell the machine in the programming whether it is a slant or upright and it makes the adjustment itself. Technicion just moves the lightbox accordingly. I'm betting the reel ztrip is wrong or misaligned. Reel stop test would prove that out

Yes that makes sense.  1st section of boat pays 6, first 2 sections of boat pay 15, 3rd section of boat alone pays nothing.

there is a difference in the reels for a upright or slant, its actually written on the reel basket, for upright it will have UP on the basket, for slants it will have S/T on it.  the basket has two halfs to it, one is the same for both, if memory serves me correctly, I think the half with the optic flags on it are not interchangeable.

What you is true...also, I believe the tangs are in a different location on the S/T basket halves which would present different strip symbols coming up on the payline.

ok just got home. Getting back with #5, #11. SB100003 9COB. I don't know what the 9cob is. Going to check the reel baskets now
