Reed relay in top box of Bally E-1000

I opened the top of a Bally E-1000 today and found a Reed Relay mounted to the center of the cabinet shelf. Nothing is plugged into it but I'm wondering if anyone knows what purpose it may have served. This machine has had several modifications (hacks) done to it over the years and I'm cleaning it up.
