Bally S6000 “thumping” noise

I recently acquired a Bally S6000 Bonus Frenzy slot machine.
 I replaced the 3.6 v battery and did a reset.
Everything seems to work but I have one issue and a question.

 My issue is a “thumping” sound that’s fairly consistent about a second apart.
 Sometimes I can play 10 minutes before it starts and other times it starts almost after I power on and
 30 seconds or so passes.
 Could this be a sound card or power supply issue?
 All sounds seem to play when reels spin and all lights seem to work.

 My other question is about sounds. The reals make sounds and coins in as well as credits paid sounds.
 However I noticed I don’t get any “special sounds” if I get a payout with a bonus on the fourth reel.
 It just sounds like any other normal payout. Does that sound right?
 I would have thought there would be a nee “bonus won” sound.

 Any help is really appreciated as I’m really new lol.

Not sure what the thumping could be. Have not heard that issue before.  Yes you should be hearing a different sound on the bonus wheel on a winning combination. Could be the sound board. It uses a specific sound chip for that game. You could try posting in the WTB ad for  good working sound board for that specific game.

Maybe coin comparitor or coin divert coil. Power supply getting weak?  You can hold a flashlight to the cabinet side optic , keep door open, to fake a door closed and listen.

Yes the noise is still there if I open the door.

Even as I play and reels spin it’s thumping in the speaker.
If I stop playing and leave it turned on it’s making same noise with nothing moving, door open or closed.

Maybe the power supply? If it has not been changed , you could try that.  Maybe ask NLG member Badbaud.

I was thinking the same thing. Pretty sure power supply is original.
I ordered a PT-65b power supply board which will arrive in a few weeks.
I’m going to try reviving the power supply with this to check to see if that’s the issue.
