Blank CF cards for WMS BB2 game/OS cards back-up

I have 15 CF cards that I would like to back up, capacity of 512MB and 1GB. I guess I would accept higher capacity cards as long as they would work in my machines.

Higher capacity cards will not work.  You have the have cards with identical, to the byte, capacity.  Other than OEM cards, Sandisk cards of the same capacity usually will work.

Feel free to correct me, but I seem to remember Bally cards being compatible.  Or perhaps that was only for bb1

Thanks for the info on exact card sizes being necessary.  I ordered a refurbished Windows 7 PC and a card reader/writer today. I'll figure out how many of each sized cards I need.

Out of curiosity why not just backup to a file and store the file for disaster recovery instead of spending all the money on a duplicate card?
Buy a small SSD drive and backup your 15 to that drive?  Even a flash drive is possible.

This sounds like a simple solution, but I'm so old that copying cassette tapes was still a thing when I was in my 20's, and figured the process would be similar for CF cards. I would still have to write them to CF cards in a disaster, so I still want to learn that process.

The willingness of everyone to help newbies like me with my limited skill-set has set me off on an opportunity to learn new things, and is much appreciated!
