Where did it come from?  Was it inside a machine?  Maybe take a couple of less zoomed in pics so we can see what it looks like overall on the outside.

No, it was just in a random box I bought in a storage auction, it was full of slot parts only so i'm guessing it goes to something I haven't seen

It appears to have been tested or inspected Oct 2011.
Can you reveal what this labels  says? Are there any other labels?
Do ANY of the PC boards have names/numbers on them?

I see interface jacks for a keyboard and mouse on the left.
There's three female plugs on the right that look like RGB.
Looks like an mono audio out (maybe!) yellow,  next to the purple keyboard plug.
Two VGA plugs, one used.
There's two RJ14 outlets.
Below each RJ14's are two USB ports.
I'm not sure what the plug is in the center, with the V shape at the bottom.
There's another 6 pin connector concealed by a wire; not sure what that would be for.
Four white connectors on top and one multipin above that; I'm too lazy to count the pins!
With two cooling fans and all that interfacing stuff, It appears to drive some sort of controllable display of some sort.

The one with the V shaped bottom is a Firewire 400 port.

I believe the ones identified as RJ14s are actually RJ45 ports, most likely Ethernet ports

On top is a CF Compact Flash slot

I've seen stuff similar to this in the player tracking displays.
They run casino amenities an advertisements from the CF card thru the DVI-I connectors to a video display.

Some of them look like this...>>>

No idea myself but that makes sense?  For what it's worth ... the MB is a MB899HF which is listed as a Mini-ITX motherboard also referenced as an "industrial control board".  Intel Core 2 Duo that supports 4GB memory.   Pretty outdated by today's standards but it sure has a large variety of outputs/interfaces for a mini!   

I don't see the other end of the VGA cable but am wondering where it goes?
