Storage authentication error looping every 10 seconds

I tried to load 2 new games at once. Now my g23 keeps rebooting and saying "storage authentication failed system will retry in 10 seconds" just keeps looping. Put in ekey and diagnostic drive and keeps doing the same thing. Tried flipping toggle switch, same thing. Now I can't remember which way that switch was when it was working. Can someone please help me get this running.

You copy/pasted someone else's post.  Did you really use an ekey7 and a diagnostic drive?  Both need to be in the secure area USB ports (the ones inside the little door).  Also if you ever plugged your diagnostic drive into a windows PC, it might have written a hidden directory which needs to be removed to make the diagnostic key usable again.  You may want to check on the grey ribbon cable that comes out of the PCI card to make sure it is good on both ends. If you are still getting authentication errors, I would replace the SSD or Hard drive with a blank one and try to see if you can install OS.

That will always happen (it did for me!) if you try to use the method of loading games by plugging in the ekey and USB loader with the game loaders in, and powering on.

It "will" say it's loading.  But anytime I did that with a 014BXXX OS, when rebooted it would fail to boot and loop with the Storage Authentication Error.

I found that you can load the OS and OS "packages" that way in 014BXXX OS's.  But loading games would always hork the machine with the Storage Authentication error.

The only way I restored it was to do a full wipe, reload the OS.  And only the OS with ekey and OS loader plugged in on boot.  Then once installed allow it to boot normally, do initial setup with ekey, then only load games after booting by putting the ekey in and going to the manage packages section.

I've seen youtube vids showing how to load games on boot with the ekey that are pretty old.  As well as after boot.  Pretty sure I read somewhere that this was a change in the 14B OS versions.

All I can say is every time I tried to load a game on boot with the ekey and game loader, it would cause the authentication error and I had to do a full wipe.  So I don't do it that way anymore...

But it never has happened when only loading games post boot with the ekey.

I have added over 40 games to my machine this way and have never run into this issue (maybe I was just lucky).  But I always make sure the game is fully compatible with my machine and that I have NVRAM space b4 adding games.  Sometimes I'll delete like 5 games via the menu and then install 5 new games via the boot method, again never an issue (again, maybe I have just been lucky.)

For whatever reason, that's just the behavior I've experienced.  Others indeed have reported different.

After having to totally wipe twice due to getting hit with the storage authentication failure.  I just went with what worked and it's never happened again.

I guess "your mileage may vary" could apply here.  lol

I run with around 90% NVRAM used (machine plays fine).  But I notice I can't install any games via the menu once around this high of NVRAM.  I use the boot method with confirmed already working games for this reason.  I just make sure I remove a few games b4 adding back more so to not fill the NVRAM completely.

I too had the error but got around it by not wiping and starting over again. Not entirely sure if my sequence is correct. Most important thing I’ve found is you’ve got to have no credits on the machine, the interface switch in the box open, and the main door open. When I get the tilt, I insert my EKey and delete the game that I suspect is giving me the problem. I’ve deleted 3 games either because it needed interface box for progressive, incorrect monitor, or storage error. I don’t recall how, but I was able to recover.
