Re Jay: yeah it's a barrel lock...just my luck! If it was a regular key I could have picked it, I've been getting pretty good at picking regular locks.

Re Tilt: thanks for the lead, I'll look into it. But first a large trash bag, duct tape, and a LOT of drill bits working from small to 1/4". LOL

Hey everyone, I hope everybody had a great weekend...we did! We finally closed escrow on our property and now the hard work begins but before that happens, Tilt...I was able to drill the lock out safely and didn't take that long with sharp drill bits..lol. Tilt, the last time we were talking, we were talking about the on-board battery...would this white thing be it and where can I purchase another one?

Glad you got into it  .  Personally I install battery holders on my boards so it's easy to change the next time.  I get my parts from Digikey here's links to the battery and holder.

There ya go.  I went to NLG headquarters a few years ago when I was working in Vegas.  Got to visit with Joey (RIP) and he showed me around the shop and the backside of the NLG website.  It was a nice visit and I'm glad I was able to meet and talk with him.

Hello everybody, I'm back with the continuing saga of this machine. I finally had some time and was able to solder the battery holder to the board, installed the battery, and reinstalled the board. Hooked the power up and these are the new on-screen messages. Any idea as to what I should do next?

Ok, I'm new at this but what's the "JP" key? Are you talking about the non-existant key lock that was supposed to be on this machine? (If you see in my previous posts that I bought this from an Estate sale and the previous owner drilled "ALL" of the locks out (see photo in earlier post). I'm looking for a replacement lock at the moment. I truly appreciate all the help!

The Jackpot reset key .... is a key switch. aka you need to put a key in to a spring loaded lock and turn it to make momentary contact then release it.

The lock is located on the right hand side of the machine near the top of the machine. You might have a hole there where the lock used to be.
From the inside of the machine this key switch had two wires on it.
Simply touch the two wires together for a second and then release.

It might make sense to actually fish the wires out of the key hole so you can do this with the door closed.
A push button or any kind of momentary on/off will work.....

The CMOS error occured because you didn't have a battery.
This should self clear when the JP switch (or wires) is turned.

Ok cool! I just replace the old battery with a new holder and I can now replace the battery without having to go through the soldering method again. I already have the two wires fished out the hole where the lock would have been. I've got a few minutes before I have to leave so I'll go give it a try. Thanks.

Jay, no luck! The machine didn't do anything when I touched the two wires. It still says "CALL ATTENDANT" "CMOS DATA"

But I did notice that I now have two blinking lights on top of the machine.

You're very close! The guys above were a little off on the procedure to get past the error on your screen.

With the door open and the CMOS DATA message on the screen, press and hold the white Self Test button (typically located near the processor board) for 5-10 seconds. If your speaker is working you will hear a ding.

Next, close and fully latch the door (the DOOR OPEN message should go away).

Next, turn and release the jackpot reset key switch once (or momentarily touch the wires together that would have been attached to that key switch then separate them).

You may encounter another error. If so, open the door and press and hold the white Self Test button again for 5-10 seconds then release it. That should do it, but if needed you can close the door and turn the jackpot reset key switch again.
