PE PLUS- Message after Enabling Bill Validator

I have a PE PLUS that was playing fine. I followed the Bill Validation directions in the posted thread. After Using the Set Chip I Enabled, Saved, and reinstalled the Program chip. When I turned the machine back on it cycled through the Testing Memory mode and then displayed “CALL ATTENDANT, CMOS DATA ERROR. I don’t See how to get Out of this lockup. I made sure that there were 0 credits on the machine. This thread didn’t mention Anything about Possibly needing   “CLEAR CHIP” and then “SETUP CHIP? Any thoughts or Suggestions would be FANTASTIC, Thank Yoh.

Try this, press and hold the white button until you hear a ding, close the door, then turn the jackpot reset key and wait for it to boot up.

I would've liked to have seen a link to the "thread" you mentioned - to see what info you were looking at.

The previous history that you're describing of that the machine "was playing fine", means that the DBV was working before you used the SET chip?
BTW Which bill validator SET chip did you use?

Sunrise Side told you the correct way to get out of the CMOS message.
You don't need a CLEAR chip for that.

Really, the only reason you would need a CLEAR chip on a PE or S+ is to get past the [61] "Loop".... or stuck logic signal.
All you have is some mixed up data in the CMOS chip.
Another possible reason to use a CLEAR chip would be if you WANTED to start all the internal accounting from zero.
Personally, that's no fun, because you lose the entire history of the slot machine from when it used to be in a "live" casino environment.

Absolutely Incredible Information about both of these Machines as far as when the Clear chip is needed. I’ve seen Many different threads where is stating, “DON’T USE CLEAR CHIP”. I have followed those guidelines/directions Completely. Somewhere in My PE Notes I’ve written down instructions that were given to Me and Everytime I work on a PE machine, I was told “Clear” then  “SET” then Hold white button down until I hear a tone. I’ve never done it Any other way but that. THANK YOU for the education class. I enclosed picture of what I was told to use and what I purchased back when. I started this Hobby when the Pandemic Hit and I LOVE it. Learning SO MUCH.

lol...of course, one the reasons for admins/members screaming “DON’T USE CLEAR CHIP” is because it disables the bill validator.
Then the slot owner has to go buy and wait for a SET015 chip - so they can enable it again... 
Many times, all the owner had to do was some sort of a sequence with the test button, Jackpot key or adjust misaligned door optics.
