PE+ Bottom Candle Light Wont go out?

I got a PE+ "4th of July" machine. Ive fixed everything on it except this one tiny issue left to resolve. The bottom red candle ight wont go out. When the door is open it flashes like it should. Once i shut the door and start playing it doesnt flash anymore it is just on. Now it has the 7 volts when its flashing but only 3-4 when its just one? I tried to track it all the way to the processor board but the electrical schematic manual i have is different than the board i have. I'm thinking maybe there is a resistor or capacitor that is shorted but not sure. Any ideas? I have processor board 75703201 Rev C

Yes if I hit the service/change button the top light comes on and if i hit the button again the top light goes off as it should. I beleive they both are powered from the same black wire so maybe it is a switching ground issue? The bottom light flashes when the door is open and then after one game is played the flashing stops as it should but the light is still on just not as bright as when it was flashing.

Sounds like the Service top half is okay.
The bottom half should be half lit like what you're describing.
There really shouldn't be any power going to it after completing one game.
The black or green wires in an IGT slot are normally ground wires.
All I can think of is a possible short somewhere maybe in that candle or the harness?
Braided wires should be grounded to cabinet metal.

You have to check around the connections.
That's a really old machine for one thing.... sometimes it helps to just unplug connectors and re-plug them back in to promote better contact, due to pin oxidization inside the connector housings.

If it turns out to be some IC circuit board component going out of specs....that's pretty much beyond my grasp because now you're talking about how to check individual components along that line.
That's where you need someone with circuit board sheets and knowledge of how to read them and test stuff directly on the circuit board.
The only fella I know that has that sort of skills or possess equipment to even check IC components would be NLG member Lookes.
Maybe you might want to get a hold of him and see what he can do for your board?

Update- I figured out the problem. There was a Triac that was shorted in Q12 on the board. It was part of the circuit for the bottom candle. I took it out and tested it with my component tester and you can see in the attache photo below that the outer legs are shorted hence the light would stay on. I swapped it with Q11 which is in the top candle light circuit (right next to it) and the problem moved to the top candle light. The second pic below is of the good one on the component tester. So I ordered 2 new ones from ebay for a couple bucks and installed them and now The candle lights are working as they should!

But of course now my sound doesn't work. I think the switch is bad so I will look into that next haha!
