WMS BB2 - Switching out standard buttons for OLED panel

I have just recently got into slots and have a generic BB2 cabinet for video slots and a dedicated Alice & the Mad Tea Party cabinet with topper.  The Alice came with a standard button panel, but I want to replace that with an OLED one.  Is this by chance as simple as removing the old panel, attaching the connectors to the new one, replacing it, and clearing and reinstalling the game, choosing the OLED button panel during install? Or do I need some other type of wiring harness?  I am a newbie here and appreciate any help I can get!

It's easier than that.

Just remove the static panel.  And put in the OLED panel.

All the OLED panel needs is the 4 pin molex power connector plugged into it, and a standard USB printer cable (USB-A > USB-B) plugged in from the OLED button deck to a USB port on the backplane of the machine.  That's it.

I don't "think" the 4 pin power cable is part of the static button panel harness.   Can't recall offhand.  If the 4 pin power connector isn't part of the static button deck harness.  You can remove the static button panel as well the wiring harness that connects from the static button deck to the backplane as it isn't needed anymore.  Or, you also can leave it in the machine and just disconnect it from the static button deck as well. 

USB components are always much easier!

You also may not have to clear and reload either.  I don't think you do just to change the button panel type.

After the OLED deck is installed.  Once it's booted up, you can likely just go into settings and change it to OLED and save the change.

I'd try that first as it's simple.  If for some reason it won't let you (which would be odd), then a clear and reload of the game would always let you set it for an OLED button panel.

You have to do a clear any time you change anything.   The 4 pin power is specific to the oled, so you will need to source it when you get your OLED deck.

Anyone have a source for the oled-specific power cable?  Googling the wms part number from the manual doesn’t produce any hits…
