On a note about posting my pinball restoration, thank you members for NOT being a Mr. Grand High Poobah of Upper Buttcrack. I appreciate your advice and help.

When can you start on mine? I would not even attempt to restore a playfield. I replace posts, rubbers and pop bumpers, etc but no painting. There's great playfield polish too for when you are done to keep it from getting worn out.

I figured that you need to have a loose screw to do this, it's a lot of work, the time taken to painstakingly paint each color is crazy. Applying a sealer to preserve the work, just to start on painting more colors. This technique is good so if I screw up, the clean up is easy, otherwise I am in a world of shit. The black was done at the end, and I split it up into sections, just to preserve my work.

Now I will be making the water slide decals with the correct printer, and I need to seal it afterwards.

On a positive note, no one has butchered the wiring, everything is in place, nothing is FUBAR. I have cleaned every switch, tested the coils, tested the motors, checked all of the wiring for issues.

I am working on the cabinet, that is a whole lot easier.

Actually the cabinet is NOT a whole lot easier, the paint prep has taken hours to get done. And I have just begun to work on the cabinet.

I repaired, stripped down the cabinet previously, so I am ready.

The front of the cabinet is tricky, they have a arch that is not a circle, so I had to fabricate a template, I had to figure how to make it, cut it and it was a lot of work. The most important part is getting it aligned up perfectly with the door. If not it would be a disaster.

Thanks, however it’s pretty much simple and easy setup. Even though the prep work is intense. If it was really involved I wouldn’t hesitate to get them.

The top is getting a new coat, the old paint was like dust, when you touch it, it went everywhere.

Getting things done....
The chime unit replacement, used is over $100.00. Just that alone paid for the donor pinball machine, and the parts keep on giving. I stripped the coin door of it's parts, also the gear motor was stripped for its parts, and so on.

Some of these colors are bright. The playfield railing is fluorescent Raspberry. All of these pinball colors are flamboyant, bright, just like the 1960-1970's era of having a great time, before the downfall of the United States.

The upper cabinet is coming along. The well where the wiring is being routed from the top cabinet to the bottom has been repainted, exactly how the factory did it.

I think this red is too dark. However I have seen others that are dark, maybe its the age of the machine lightning the colors. I don't know.
