Author Topic: Run For Your Money - R 0.7 Error? (Read 9136 times)

Hello,
Recently had a power outage here. After things were back up and running, the machine displays R 0.7 in the top display. No error codes on the bottom displays at all. I have done a few searches but haven't found the R 0.7 error listed anywhere. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure why this was moved to S2000. I was under the impression this was an S+ Barcrest game. Is this in the right place to receive some help? Thanks!

I think it was moved in error. I'm moving it back to S+.

IGT made those games under both platforms. The error listed isn't familiar so maybe post a picture for confirmation. If the reel glass has a VFD display on the lower left then it's an S2000. If it has 4 LED displays along the bottom of the reel glass then it's S+

Check the white power connector on the motherboard. (front/right side of board)

Power connection seems secure. I've attached two pictures for reference. The top glass is out while I've been working on it. The R_07 stays for a few minutes then it kicks to C_01. If I power cycle it, The same thing happens. Any suggestions are appreciated. I apologize for the delay in posting a follow up, I've been out of town. Thanks again.

I would try reseating the top box. On mine I had to bend the bracket that the plug is mounted on in the top of the cabinet to establish a good connection.(it was bent back a bit from years of use) Really have to slam the top box in place, while holding pressure on it tighten the hold down knobs. Once its secure, reseat the sound card (large cartridge that plugs into the mpu4 board. It may take a few tries before you get the top box seated properly. Always make sure the power is off while disconnecting or reconnecting components.

Hello bburger.
First, welcome to the site. It is a great place to get educated . Without these people here I certainly would have thrown my machine away. I, by no means am a tech. I am however, happy to guide you with what they have taught me. When the masters of this craft begin working their magic for you, Iâ€™ll step back and learn more myself. 10 People can have the exact same machine as you and have the same power outage as you and the fix could/will be 10 different things. Electronics suck that way.
Once you have tried what Slam suggested , here are so other thoughts. Look on the side of the chassis that you re seated, there may be a label on it with â€œcodesâ€. I have not seen the r0.7 code BUT the C-01 Is actually a normal code to see. BUT does it clear? Do the reels spin if it clears? Look inside your bottom cabinet (see picture)
Are the red and green ledâ€™s lit? blinking?

The C 01 is a communication error. There are 3 things I know of to cause this. 1. the top unit is not plugged in or has a blown fuse (no power) or 2. the comm board that sits on the back of the machine behind the bill validator or 3. the plugs on the top side of the power supply in the bottom behind BV are not making good connections. I'm betting on #3.

Thanks for all of the input. I have confirmed that all the connections are firm and I have no blown fuses. Can someone provide some instructions on checking the CMOS? Is it on the board inside the sound card/white box? Thanks.

Additionally, it looks like the release version on the software is 0.7 so I'm leaning towards believing that's what the message is indicating. I cannot clear the C01 after it displays. The black box is indicating a solid green on the bottom light (DS2). I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Since you have the glass out of the top box, pull the entire chassis out and do a bench test. Use a computer power supply cord and run the self test by pushing the white button located on the right side inside the chassis. Since you had a power outage See if all your bulbs light up brightly like they should during the test. Also take note of the power supply. They tend to get warm when functioning properly so see if it is warm or is it just room temp.

Test functions all work including both lights and audio. Warms up and the light is on the power supply. Thanks.

From what I've read in past posts the cmos battery should be mounted to the main MPU4 module, so yes, what the sound card is plugged into.

to access the battery, you will have to remove the mpu4 board. Unplug & remove the power supply, unplug all the wires going into the mpu4 board. If you look on the right hand side of the mpu4 board you will see what looks to be a knob. Push that in to release the board from the chassis. Once the board is removed, slide the 2 slides on the edge of the board to open it up. Once open remove 2 screws that hold the board to the housing, you will see the battery on the board. Here's a pic for reference.

Bburger, Just an observation: Elvis mentionedâ€¦â€¦..3. the plugs on the top side of the power supply in the bottom behind BV are not making good connections. You state, â€œconfirmed that all the connections areâ€ firmâ€. My question is, did you actually unplug them and look at the the molex to see if there were any burn marks on the molex? While you are at it, I suggest that you do the same for the 3-4 molex connectors that plug into the bottom box mpu. Canâ€™t remember which one has the wires which leads to the top box so no harm in unplugging them and looking for burn marks on the molex just to be sure.

Checked all the molex connections. No burn marks, so I'm leaning towards the battery. I've not removed the top board yet, but I'm assuming that battery is soldered in place? If I swap it out for a new one, is there some sort of reset procedure afterwards or does it just work?
