I thought that I might be able to save myself some time and ask if anyone has a modifiable document for printing button legends?

Some of the ones I have are scuffed and show some wear.  What I want to do is change the font to white and add blue plastic inserts to mix it up a bit.  I can probably figure out a way to do it in Word, but in case someone already went through that headache I thought I'd ask and save myself the trouble.

If not, I'll post what I come up with and do the same for others.  Thanks!

I thought I'd post a trick I found while swapping the legend out.  I didn't have any heat shrink to put on my pliers as I've seen mentioned as a good method for pulling the lens off.  I had to get creative and this worked really well.

If you wrap the button with masking tape you can pull them off pretty easily. There were a couple that were more of a challenge than others, but in the end I didn't have to access any from the back.  Hopefully it will come in handy for others

another way is to place a the  flat part of a flat  bladed screwdriver  on the side of the plastic lens (just the point of the blade) and lift up with pressure applied and in a quick motion.  comes out every time, no damage or marking done.   

I do this quite often when replacing bulbs on S+ machines,  after the lens and insert are removed the bulb is exposed, I will cut two small pieces of DUCT tape and attach to bulb, then pull out the bulb and replace with a new one. 

I go through all that trouble because the heat generated by the bulb will degrade the plastic housing ( the part where the nut is screwed onto the housing,) if you try and wiggle the switch assembly to remove it, it will crack the housing, now you have to replace the whole housing  or else the switch will not stay in place.  saves a lot of aggravation.

I just use a pair of pliers with nothing on them.  I'm just really careful to apply enough pressure so it doesn't slip and scratch the lens.  I've done it so many times, I have the feel for it.  But I can see first timers get all kinds of cracked and scratched lenses using this "brute" procedure.  I used to remove the entire button and pull the lens with the whole things disassembled before I learned the pliers trick.
