Hi Everyone!

I hope you're all well!  I'm new here and am wanting to buy a slot machine for fun at home.  I'd love to obtain a Willy Wonka Dreamer of Dreams, one day, or a Everi Little Shop of Horrors.  Seems kind of like a pipe dream as I've not seen either on the secondary market, but maybe one day. 

Anyway, just doing research to figure out which machine would be best for games availability. From some quick reading I've gathered that machines can be setup for other games with carts/usbs like arcade machines.  I have a preference for modern games with bonuses.  If you have any reco's please don't hesitate to chime in!

Get an IGT Game King!! Older... but plenty of fun games. You can also upgrade from the older 3902 platform to the "044" by swapping out the backplane and the MPU. That gives you a choice of more (slightly) interactive games with bonus rounds. Not quite like what's out there today, but fun nevertheless. My favorite games are Texas Tea and Fortune Cookie. Hopefully some other members may chime in with different ideas.

Thank you for the welcome!  I watched a couple YT videos on Texas Tea and Fortune Cookie and they look like fun!    Looking into the Game King platform now.

New here and new to the slot machines. I just purchased a Ten Times Gold Slot Machine that needs some work. Never worked on anything like this before, but I figured I can figure it out. Its got a "ram error" message, but the battery has power. No key so I installed a button, but after that I found out I need swap the modules and go through a whole slue of things to reset the ram as well. Anyways, here to learn and most likely buy some parts! See ya around!

It's a IGT S2000 slot machine just in case you didn't know.  You can get through the RAM ERROR message by turning the jackpot reset key on the right side of the machine several times and follow the directions on the screen.  The self test button is located on the MPU board on the bottom of the LEDs.  It will tell you to press and hold that for 2 - 3 seconds and then to close the main door.  This is where you hold your breathe and hope that when you do the message changes to initilaizing.  If it doesn't you likely have a MPU board with a leaky battery that destroyed some of the circuit traces used by the door circuitry.    Read up on Varta battery here and you'll find out all the details you need to know about it.  Hopefully you'll get it back up and running soon!

New member here - just received my first two slot machines today (from SMU) and look forward to learning all about them with some help from the community here. Slots are both Bally S9000 Alpha, I believe - one is a Hot Shot and the other is a 7 Wild Quick Hit.

Neither of them survived the trip across country unscathed - they were undamaged but neither would initially boot fully. After reseating the CPU on the Quick Hit the machine fully initialized and is now functional

Still having an issue with the Hot Shot, so working through it still.

NLG seems to have the most informative hits in my searches, so I decided to join the community.

The more information you can give us the better we can assist you, and hopefully with your experiences here you can further assist other members.

Hi, my name is Cameron and I live in Australia. Thanks for letting me be a member of this forum.
I recently made the decision to expand my home arcade to include a touchscreen quiz machine and 2 slot machines.
My current setup includes the following machines
- Change Machine (Modified to dispense coins via a light switch connected to the hopper)
- Yellow Toy Soldier Claw Machine, (Currently out of action due to a broken joystick)
- Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory Video Redemption Coin Pusher
- Sammy Pachislo/Skill Stop Slot Machine With Savanna Park Theme
- Aristocrat Regal Super 22 One Armed Bandit (Mechanism needs a major overhaul, cleaning and alignment)
- Barry Quiz Machine, Once very common in pubs and bars but now rare as hen's teeth. (Currently under repair due to minor moisture damage)

Newbie member here from NJ. I've been through the arcade game years and currently into rebuilding EM pinball machines. I just picked up my first slot machine from a buddy. I've got an IGT Sizzling 7's. Typical story it used to work, but hasn't been used in years. I'm going to do some looking around here do some learning after I broke something instead of before I break something.

BubbaK: with your pinball experience, you will probably be GREAT working on Bally Electro-mechanical machines, much different than a MPU based machine, being "part mechanical" slot machines, where the coins still drop in the tray!

Thanks.. I don't like circuit boards. I definitely would be better at and happier with an EM style game. I was a bit disappointed when I saw this game wasn't a coin game. I saw the pictures before picking this one up, but being my first one I didn't really know what I was looking at. I took a gamble for $100. I haven't taken a lot of pictures of it yet, but I did remove the bill validator while the machine was powered on. From what I'm reading so far, that wasn't so smart.
