S+ reels

Could any one tell me if the reels are the same on a console as on a upright S+ they look the same but line up in a different angle ? I was thinking the little notch that you lock in the reel paper might be in a different spot???  Thanks

If you are talking about a slant top from what I've read they are different.

Thanks ,I thought they were different but from what I see maybe they can be used by starting the reel strip in a different place??

That I do not know. But I have seen people in the past saying in a slant top the reels from an upright will not work. Not sure, so we'll have to see if somebody else can chime in.

The reel assembly is actually essentially the same.  The main difference is in the reel baskets, and even those aren't that much different.  The big difference is where the nub is in the basket where you line up the notch in the reel strips.  It's in a different place on the slant top baskets (in order to display the correct symbol in the slant top reel glass, which is positioned differently compared to an upright machine).

In theory you could use a slant top reel basket in an upright machine, but you'd have to add an additional notch to the reel strips to have them align correctly.
