The chips are.on their way a I need is the instructions on how to program the machine using the chips. Can someone point me to the right direction? Thanks.

Since the directions vary slightly depending on what SP chip you actually get, the best course of action right now is for you to purchase a new SP chip, let us know which number you get, and then we can give you specific instructions.

I've read some good information but can't seem to get to the step by step instructions on how to program my slot machine. What I need is to enable my bill validator, disable my hopper so I can get credits instead of the hopper spitting out coins, and any other setting change any of you recommend. Thank you.

I just received my chips and would like to know which chips do you use to program the machine since I have 3 of them? I know you have to swap chips back and forth to get it Programmed. Members have said to look in the FAQ but I haven't found exact instructions on how to program my machine. Please someone help me program my machine so I can use it. Thank you.

on an S+ you cannot disable the hopper as it is the only means of cashing out.  If you don't want the machine to spit coins out every time you win something, you can press the cash/credit button so that it is lit, that way your wins will go to credit.  Usually when you buy the chips, you get a SET and a Clear, not sure what an S+ Dollar is?  If it is a SET chip, this is the procedure to follow:

Install SP1271 in the game socket.  Boot machine and clear all errors.  Turn off.  Replace Sp1271 with the SET chip.  Turn on, enable bill validator.  Save.  Turn off, replace set chip back with Sp1271. Power up and you should be good to go.  Don't use the clear chip unless you get stuck in the 61 loop.

Here is the link to the FAQ regarding the S+ setup.

on an S+ you cannot disable the hopper as it is the only means of cashing out.

With the SP1271, though, he should be able to set the hopper limit to zero to make all cash-outs handpays, rather than actually paying out coins, right?  It's been forever since I've done that setup, but I think that it can be accomplished with the 1271 chip we had him buy.

Once you have your machine up and running, you'll want to adjust the following settings to change your hopper and credit limits.

With zero credits on the machine (cash them out or play them out), do the following:

- Open the door and press the white Self Test button (next to the power switch) approximately 12 times, at which point the machine should show the number 7 in Coins Played, and 1 in the Credits window.  This is the Hopper Limit adjustment.  The Winner Paid window will be showing a four digit number, with the far right digit flashing.  Use the Spin Reels button to adjust the value of the flashing digit, and turn the jackpot reset keyswitch on the side of the machine to change which digit is flashing.  Adjust the Hopper Limit to all zeros.

- Press the white Self Test button again.  The machine should still show 7 in Coins Played, but now 2 in the Credits window.  This is the Lower Jackpot Limit setting.  If you do not want your machine to lock up on any jackpots, set this to 9999 using the Spin Reels button and turning the jackpot reset keyswitch, as described above.  If you do want your machine to lock up on a single win above a certain credit amount (such as the top award on your machine), set this to a number one below where you want the lockup to occur.  For example, on your machine, the top award is 5,000 coins for Red White and Blue 7s with 2 coins played.  Set this to 4,999 to make it lock up in an attendant pay if you hit the top award, but allow all other wins to go to the credit meter.

- Press the white Self Test button again.  The machine should still show 7 in Coins Played, but now 3 in the Credits window.  This is the Credit Limit setting.  Set this to 9999 using the Spin Reels button and turning the jackpot reset keyswitch, as described above.

- Press the white Self Test button again.  The machine should still show 7 in Coins Played, but will show either 4 or 5 in the Credits window.  If it shows 4, press the Self Test button again to advance it to 5.  If it's showing 5, you are now at the Bill Acceptor Credit Limit.  Set this to 9999 using the Spin Reels button and turning the jackpot reset keyswitch, as described above.

- Press the white Self Test button again to save your last setting, then close and latch the door.  In theory, your machine should now accept bills or coins, but when you press the "Cash Out" (or "Cash/Credit") button, the machine will now lock up in a jackpot/attendant pay mode, requiring just the turn of the jackpot reset keyswitch on the side of the machine to clear it out, rather than paying out coins from the hopper.
