Coining a coinless machine

I have an IGT S2000 "Double Wild" machine here that is currently coinless that i would like to change to accept quarters. I have a quarter hopper, coin entry as well as the coin mech and the optics and wiring that goes with it. I'm wondering after I put all these parts in is there anything that would have to be changed in the settings to make them work? Also whats involved in thanging the denomination of the machine? Currently its a multi denomination "$1, $2, $5, $10" and I would like to change it to "0.05, 0.25, 0.50, $1". I already have the legend, is this something I would have to change in the settings as well?

Your going to have to reprogram the machine for all those changes.. Your going to need a Clear & Key chip to do the job, if you don't already have them.. Your machine will need to have the credits at 0 to start the job..

For all the changes you want to make, yes you do. Changing the denom is your main reason. If your were just going from coin to coinless, I think the key chip would have been enough. I think a clear 17 should work for what your doing, since your key is a 45.. Those are the same 2 I have.

On a multidenom game you have both accounting and player denom settings. As long as the lowest selected player denom option is the same as or higher than the accounting denom setting then you should not need to clear the machine. Just go in and raise the current player denom settings. If the desired player denom settings are lower than the current accounting setting then you will need to clear it and set it up from scratch. As far as making it take coins, add all the equipment then change the option in menu 7 for coinless from enabled to disabled. All can be done with a key chip and zero credits on the machine. After all that is done you will likely want to go into menu 3 limits option and set up hopper, jackpot, credit and BV limits.

If it was me, I would leave the denom settings as they are and maybe use the tokenizing option in menu7 to increase the value of each token inserted to add credits faster. For example, if the high player denom option was $5, then I'd make each token/coin inserted worth $10. It wouldn't effect the value of bills or the credits given for bills inserted and it wouldn't matter what coin you use, quarter, nickle, dollar, whatever but it avoids having to clear and set up from scratch. All my machines are set so one coin is good for one max bet/max denom spin

I would like to have the machine accept quarters and the denomination be nickels quarters 50cent $1. So far I have it taking quarters, but all the coins go down into base instead of the hopper, and wins can only be printed to tickets. Is there a way to have the player choose the option of coin pay out or a ticket? Or is it just one or the other? Whats the procedure for the denom change as well?

Check your accounting denom in menu 7. If it's set higher than a nickle you will need clear and key chips to get what you want. If by chance it's set at a nickle or penny you will only need a key chip. Let us know where it's set and we can go from there. If you don't have the programming chips then aquire them before we start

Contact one of the supporting vendors on the home page or wait for someone to read this thread and offer them for sale. Best bet would be a 45 key chip and 224 clear chip, but a 31 key, 97 clear would probably work just as well for your purposes

 Ok so I've got the key and clear chips now. What would be the procedure on chaning the denominations of the machine? I'd like to go 5cent 25cent 50cent dollar, multi denomination, and I want the machine to accept quarters as the coin in. Is it possible also to be able to give the user the option of choosing ticket or hopper payouts?

Here's a snapshot of some notes I have on set-up...should help with how to set your denoms, etc. Some Multi-Denom notes at the bottom. Not sure how familiar you are with Clearing and Keying a machine, but hope this helps some.



S2000 setup - Acctg, Coin, & Player Denom

Zero all credits on machine, you cannot Key chip a machine with credits on it or the changes will not take!

-Power off machine.
-Remove MPU board and locate the SB chip (take note of the direction of the notch on end of chip).
-Install Key chip in the SB socket (notch in the correct location, if you install backwards you fry the chip).
-Re-Install MPU and turn on machine. LEAVE DOOR OPEN!
-Watch the LED lights on the MPU. When the 2 amber lights come on, turn off machine.
-Pull MPU & remove key chip.
-Re-Install the SB carefully, checking notch and legs for proper insertion.
-Re-Install MPU and turn on machine. LEAVE DOOR OPEN!
-Once machine boots up you will see "7 Key Chip Config" in display (if not press cash out till if does).
-Use the buttons on the button panel to navigate the menus, make changes, and Save changes.
Use Spin Reels button to "Enter" into a menu.
Use Change and Cash Out to "Page Up & Down" in a menu.
Use Max Bet to "Save" a setting.

NOW, there are certain things you MUST configure/set in the machine in order for it to play, no exceptions. These settings include: Machine Type (Upright), Accounting Denomination,

Display changes to “7.1 Keychip Config”
Press spin reels
Display reads “7.1.1 Denomination”
Press spin reels
Display reads “7.1.1.1 Accountion Denomination”
Press spin reels
Display reads “Account $0.25 or ---“ will not let you change with cash out buttons
Press Spin again and you will be able to set the Account denom. Make it a penny if it will let you
Press Max Bet once to return
Display will read “7.1.1.1 Account Denom”
Press Cash out
Display reads “7.1.1.2 Coin Denom”
Press spin
Display reads “Coin $0.25 or ---“ can not change until you hit spin again to select
Change to what you want the machine denom to be $0.25
Max bet to return
Cash out till display reads 7.1.1.3 Player denom
Press spin and see player 0ne, spin to select and change to $0.25 , max bet a bunch of times to exit and play.

Multi-denom: set up player 1 Acctg denom and game selection. Then set up player 2, 3, 4 acctg denom and game selection. THEN lastly set up Touch Panel Buttons....you must tell machine what denom and game Players 2-4 are playing before it will allow you to set up a button for them....

ok so it wont let me change the accounting denom its currently at $1 and i cant change the coin denom to anything lower than $1. do i need to clear first?

ok, i got it cleared and im onto the setup. having troubles setting the multi denom, more specifically section 7.1.1.4 Denomination Touch-panel. im unable to change player denom 2, 3 and 4. any ideas why?

nm, went back after i input some other settings and was able to change it. i think it got it all wokring how i want now
all i need now is a tray to catch the quarters when it pays out lol

Yeah, you have to set payback percent for each player denom individually before it allows button set up
