S2000 will not boot up

Hey all! I need some help. I just got a s2000 with 504 board with Sg000363 chip and vs011nx5 version chip. The game won't boot when turned on. All lights on the 504 board light up. I'm at a loss as to what to do at this point

Hey SS, you should have two game chips (363) and an sbchip. If you do not have all of those chips post us a picture of the board so we can see what you might be missing. It could be just a wire unhooked but pictures speak loudly.

Yep, has all chips have game chip sg1000213  has the version chip and chip 1 and 2 of the 363 chips.

With the game turned off check to make sure you MPU, door IO card(S), cabinet IO card, and power supply behind the reels are all seated well. If that doesn't work, check the voltage on your cmos battery. If that's good, unplug all three lights on the input side of the ballast. If that works then plug them back in one at a time till it doesn't and replace as needed. If that doesn't work, unplug the BV harness behind the BV housing. If that doesn't work, double check all your chips and make sure they are seated correctly. If that doesn't work we'll think up other possibilities to try, but start with that

After battery replacement you will have to reset at least one ram error which requires opening the door, turning jackpot reset key 3 times and following instructions on the VFD display. You may have to do it for a CRC mismatch error also

Still no joy.  :Scratch-Head:


Replaced battery, no boot. disconnected ballasts, no boot, reseated all connectors and i/o boards, no boot. disconnected dbv, no boot. reseated chips on 504 board, no boot.  :banghead:  Still getting all lights lit on 504 board with flashing red.


What now?

I also did some digging into the SB chip.The one on the board is SB100213 Which is triple double dollars but 1 line 2CM. The glass, reels etc are for 5 line and 5cm. Could this be the problem?


P.S. Ordered the correct SB100861 chip.

I would really like to fix this one as the cabinet is in great shape and all the glass is superb. Round top with a light woodgrain formica.

That shouldn't make a difference. Assuming all your chips are socketed properly, no broken or bent pins, your MPU may be bad. Also check the power supply. If you have another machine to test working parts from it's a big help. Wish I had known you needed that SB chip. I have 2 originals.

Okay here is where I am at this point. This game looks like it came directly from a casino. Lots of cut cables and wiring in the top box. Took out all that crap and got a new motherboard. New battery installed and removed the Varta. Machine boots up and I cleared numerous errors. Now it boots up and then I get an error message "SAS Primary down" Where do I go from here? I assume I am going to need to clear the game to default settings. What's the best clear chip? This is an S2000 Triple double dollars 5 line 5 credit max multi denom with VS100nx5 version chip, 363 chips.

Sounds like you need to key chip it and change SAS setting in menu 7 to "standard"

If you are going to clear and key then, use a 97 clear chip and a 45 key chip.  Hope this helps

Yay!!!!!
Got game working! Replaced motherboard, set sas to standard and replaced door optics.


Weird though. Game has a 213 chip in it which the book says is Triple double dollars one line 2 coin max bet. The game is multi denom that works. also is set up as 5 line 5 coin max bet. ??????????
This beats the bejeebers out of me :Scratch-Head:
